A Change Is Gonna Come by Youthsayers

Sublime re-working of Sam Cooke's classic protest song by Youthsayers - our talented and hardworking group of South London teenagers, working with limited resources in lockdown isolation. A testament to positivity, strength in community and hope for the future.
Recorded individually at home during lockdown, this track represents Youthsayers' determination to continue to make uplifiting and positive sounds despite the current challenges.
Sam Cooke's remarkable civil rights era protest song (originally edited by his own label to avoid the controversy) is treated with a heavy reggae groove, sublime vocals and heartfelt playing all round by our group of talented teenagers - a song of hope, defiance and triumph over adversity and opression. Sadly all too relevant in today's political and social climate, but offering joy and the promise of a better future in the certain knowledge that A Change Is Gonna Come.

DC's Finest by Fort Knox Five

During the lockdown we've done a bit of spring cleaning and opened up the Fort Knox Vaults. A fun rediscovery has been the epic DC's Finest Volumes 1-4 Mix Series from over a decade ago! The mixes are chock full of mash-ups, remints & edits from our early FK1000 & BOMBS releases. We've decided to share these classic FK5 mixes with all of you, and for the first time ever will release the DC's Finest Remixes that made these mixes so much fun. We're giving away all this music, but please consider "Name Your Price" at checkout, and pay what you can to support Independent Music & Musicians - FK5 has had a lot of cancelled gigs, thanks for supporting!

The Quarantine Spring Cleaning continues! Fresh from the Fort Knox vaults, DC's Finest Volume 2 is now available for the first time. We realized that this DJ mix was never released nor pressed on CD. Among these rare mash-ups, remixes & edits, only Rootz in FK-os & Green Tambourine have seen the light of day. The other tracks were kept as FK5 exclusives and this is the first time they are available for download to play on your own.

The DC's Finest trip down memory lane continues with Volume 3 of the Mix Series!!! There are some bass heavy tunes & party anthems included in this group. "Mama's Boots" was the only track ever released, it came out as a BOMBS White Label 12-inch Vinyl back in the day! We're giving away all this music

Good Good Things by BLUNDETTO

Blundetto released two reggae driven new singles “Sunday in the Club” and “Fly High” feat Hindi Zahra, the first two singles from his forthcoming new album “Good Good Things” (Heavenly Sweetness). It’s exactly 10 years after his critical acclaimed debut album “Bad Bad Things”, it looks like that all that bad things turned into good things for talented French producer hidden under Blundetto name. It’s Max Guiguet, French DJ, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. His production sometimes is more Reggae-oriented, sometimes it brings you directly to a Jazz club in Paris.
